Titans Drop Fifth Straight Game

T.C. Williams falls 14-13 to previously winless Woodson.

The T.C. Williams varsity football team lost its fifth straight game Thursday night, falling to W.T. Woodson 14-13 at Parker-Gray Stadium, according to the Washington Post.

Patch correspondent Jack Harris that the team is without coach Dennis Randolph for the remainder of the season while he recovers from an illness. Assistant Avery Williams is overseeing the team in Randolph’s absence.

Thursday’s loss dropped the Titans to 1-5 on the season and 0-3 in the Patriot District. The game marked the Cavaliers’ first victory of the year.

T.C. Williams has not won since on Sept. 1 in its season opener.

Last year, the Titans during a 6-4 campaign that marked T.C. Williams’ first winning season since 1995. However, the six wins were not enough for the Titans to break a 20-year playoff drought.

With just four games remaining this season, including next Friday’s trip to West Springfield (7:30 p.m. kickoff), the best the Titans could finish season is 5-5.  

In this week’s Alexandria Times, junior running Dealo Robertson said “This year has really been a struggle. It’s hard, especially being in the same predicament as last year.”
