Two Million-Dollar Virginia Lottery Tickets About To Expire

Check your ticket! Two one-million-dollar prizes are only valid until June 30, according to the Virginia Lottery.

Two lottery ticket buyers, both of whom stand to win $1 million, are out there somewhere and the Virginia Lottery is eager to hand over the prize money — but can't find the winners.

It’s been more than five months since three $1 million winning tickets were drawn in Virginia’s New Year’s Millionaire Raffle. Since then, only one of those million-dollar tickets have been claimed. The Virginia Lottery is waiting for the other two winners to come forward before a deadline at the end of the month, which turns the winnings over to the state, according to a news release from lottery officials.

By law, winning tickets in Virginia expire 180 days after the drawing. So both of the unclaimed tickets will become worthless at 5 p.m. on Friday, June 30, if the winners don't claim them. Ticket #111002 was bought at 7-Eleven, 4601 West Broad St. in Richmond; ticket #283611 was bought at Speedway, 3732 Campbell Ave. in Lynchburg.
