Two Robberies Reported In The Same Area Of Alexandria

A group of robbers ambushed a teen the same night an armed suspect robbed a man in the Arlandia neighborhood.

ALEXANDRIA, VA—Alexandria Police are investigating two Monday night robberies in the same area of the city.

The first happened in the 3800 block of Russell Road, which is not far from Mount Vernon Avenue in Arlandia. Police say a group of unknown suspects stole items from a teen and fled. Police sent a notification about this incident shortly before 8 p.m.

In the second incident, an armed robber stole items from a man in the 3500 block of Mount Vernon Avenue. The second alert went out just before 9:30 p.m. (For more local stories, subscribe to Patch to receive daily newsletters and breaking news alerts.)

Neither of the victims were injured. Police did not indicate that that incidents could be related. No arrests have been announced.
