The annual Purcellville Wine and Food Festival returns on Saturday, July 18, in Dillon’s Woods at the historic Fireman’s Field Complex (250 S. Nursery Avenue, Purcellville). The festival will take place from 2 to 8 p.m., inviting guests to gather with family and friends for an afternoon and evening of local wine, beer, food, live music, art, and more.
This year’s event will showcase 40 vendors, including wineries, breweries, food and snack vendors, and local exhibitors. Enjoy live music performances by the Rick Reaves Band, The Darby Brothers, and the Franklin Park Big Band. The “Arts in the Garden” section, hosted by the Purcellville Arts Council, will highlight local artists who will create works of art live on-site. Additional activities include face painting and a photo stand-in booth. 
Early bird ticket pricing is available through 5 p.m. on July 17: 
• Early bird admission (ages 17 and over): $5 (+ tax) 
• Early bird drink tickets (6 oz wine or 12 oz beer): $8.50 (+ tax) 
• Early bird drink ticket package: 4 tickets for $32 (+ tax) 
• Early bird bottle of wine purchase: $35 (+ tax), available from participating wineries (bottles must be consumed on-site)
A souvenir glass will be provided with the purchase of the first drink ticket. Save time and money by purchasing your tickets in advance. 
The popular VIP experience returns for $275 (+ tax) and includes admission for six, a reserved table for six, three bottles of local wine, six souvenir glasses, six drink tickets, early entry to the festival, special commemorative gifts, and a selection of sweets and savories for the table.

Join the Alexandria Film Festival as we honor American ideals with the Virginia premiere of "Space Cowboy." You may not recognize the name Joe Jennings, but you likely know his work that ranges from Super Bowl ads to Baywatch stunt scenes. Jennings, the subject of the feature documentary “Space Cowboy,” has been achieving aerial feats of skydiving cinematography since the 1980s. Now in his 60’s, Jennings looks back at his life and career while planning his latest gravity-defying stunt. Through interviews and archival footage, he confronts the challenges of a high-risk occupation marked by adrenaline highs and emotional lows. This cinematic portrait of a man and his atmospheric adventures was made for the big screen. Buy your tickets ($15) online or at the door. (Doors open at 6 pm for 6:30 pm screening.)

Alexandria Film Festival Presents "Space Cowboy" July 19 at The Lyceum

Rising 9th through 12th graders residing in the City of Alexandria are invited to <a href="https://www.research.net/r/YouthLC2026" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">register for the annual Alexandria Youth Leadership Conference</a>.&nbsp;The 2026 Alexandria Youth Leadership Conference will be held August 11-13 at the Del Pepper Community Resource Center (4850 Mark Center Dr.)&nbsp;
This event is free and youth must register by August 7. <a href="https://www.research.net/r/YouthLC2026" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">Register here.</a>
The first two days of this three-day conference will feature interactive workshops. The last day of the conference will include an afternoon networking session with some of Alexandria's most prominent community leaders. Lunch will be provided all three days of the conference and youth who attend the conference in its entirety are eligible to receive a $20 gift card. 
The Youth Leadership Conference empowers emerging young leaders by providing training opportunities and connecting them to resources in their community. This event is hosted by the Substance Abuse Prevention Coalition of Alexandria (SAPCA), the Alexandria Campaign on Adolescent Pregnancy (ACAP), the Alexandria Sexual Assault Center, and the Alexandria Library.
