Washington-Lee senior Sarah Keyser to perform at Mid-Atlantic Song Contest Winners Showcase April 21st

Amphora (Herndon) hosts winners of 31st annual Mid-Atlantic Song Contest Tuesday April 21st

Washington-Lee High School senior Sarah Keyser will be among the performers at the Mid-Atlantic Song Contest Winners Showcase, Tuesday April 21st, 7:15 pm, at the Amphora Diner Deluxe in Herndon, Virginia. Keyser won a Silver Award in the Vocal Jazz/Blues category for her original composition “The One We Left Behind”. Sponsored by the Songwriters Association of Washington, the Mid-Atlantic Song Contest (MASC) is one of the oldest songwriting competitions in the nation and attracts thousands of entries in multiple categories. Also performing on April 21st will be MASC Award Winners Anna Dagmar (Gold Award in Open Category) and Kipyn Martin (Gold Award in Folk and 3rd Place Overall).

Sarah Keyser has recorded two solo albums and her band Moon-Scene released their debut recording “To Dance with the Sun” in December 2014. Her musical training includes drums, guitar and piano as well as voice lessons. In addition to her solo work, Keyser was a member of the World’s Children Choir for seven years. Other interests include drawing and photography which she incorporates into album art on her own CDs. After graduating in June, Sarah plans to take a gap year to compose and play with her band before enrolling in the prestigious Berklee School of Music in Boston.
