Water Main Break Fixed on Janney's Lane in Alexandria
Water main break was fixed by 7 a.m. Tuesday. Local school was closed Tuesday due to break.

No word from ACPS on whether the school remains closed or will reopen for Wednesday, but according to Virginia American Water, the water main break on Janney’s Lane that impacted the school and surround homes has been fixed.
The water main break was repaired by 7 a.m. Tuesday and crews were scheduled to leave the area by about 8- 8:30 a.m. Tuesday, according to Virginia American Water spokeswoman Samantha Villegas.

Traffic was being rerouted during the back-filling work, Villegas noted.
In all, the City has seen about a dozen water main breaks in the past week, according to Villegas.
