This Week's Weather: Chances for Snow Showers?

Here's a look at the forecast for Northern Virginia, according to the National Weather Service.

After a warm and windy Sunday, temperatures in Northern Virginia are expected to drop Monday with highs not getting above the upper 30s. The National Weather Service forecasts possible snow showers Tuesday afternoon and on the weekend.


•Monday: Sunny. Cooler with highs in the upper 30s. West winds 10 to 15 mph.
• Monday Night: Mostly clear in the evening...then becoming mostly cloudy. Lows in the upper 20s. West winds around 5 mph... Becoming south after midnight.
• Tuesday: Mostly cloudy. A chance of rain and snow showers in the afternoon. Highs in the mid 40s. Southwest winds 10 to 15 mph. Chance of precipitation 30 percent.
• Tuesday Night: Partly cloudy in the evening...then clearing. Lows in the mid 20s. West winds around 15 mph with gusts up to 30 mph.
• Wednesday: Sunny. Highs around 30.
• Wednesday Night: Mostly clear. Lows in the lower 20s.
• Thursday: Mostly sunny. Highs in the lower 40s.
• Thursday Night: Partly cloudy. Lows in the upper 20s.
• Friday: Mostly sunny. Highs in the upper 40s.
• Friday Night: Partly cloudy. Lows in the lower 30s.
• Saturday: Partly sunny with a chance of rain and snow. Highs in the lower 40s. Chance of precipitation 40 percent.
• Saturday Night: Mostly cloudy with a chance of rain and snow. Lows in the lower 30s. Chance of precipitation 40 percent.
