Where To Dine In Del Ray For Alexandria Summer Restaurant Week 2022

ALEXANDRIA, VA — Alexandria Summer Restaurant Week returns Friday with 10 days of special menus at restaurants around the city. There are 10 restaurants participating in the Del Ray/Arlandria area.

Restaurant week has been organized by Visit Alexandria since 2009 to support Alexandria's restaurants and spotlight the city's diverse culinary offerings. It is held twice a year — January for winter restaurant week and August for summer restaurant week.

During the upcoming restaurant week from Aug. 19 to 28, restaurants will offer $25, $35 or $45 dinner for one menus. Nearly 70 restaurants are participating, from Old Town and Del Ray to Carlyle, the West End and south of the city.

Cheesetique's three-course menu begins with a starter choice of watermelon, feta and quinoa salad or trio of fresh chèvre truffles. For the main course, choose from creamy black truffle gnocchi, chicken pot pie, shrimp and grits, or beef short ribs. For dessert, the choices are chocolate mousse, cheesecake or key lime pie bars.

Del Ray Café: 205 E. Howell Avenue, Alexandria, VA 22301

Del Ray's three-course menu is available for dine-in or takeout. For appetizers, the choices are the soup of the day, Del Ray Café salad, paté de campagne, Burgundy snails, or wild mushroom tart on a puff pasty. The entrée choices include a risotto, Virginia trout, chicken paillard, or hanger steak. For dessert, choose from four chouquettes, crème brûlée (dine-in only) or three sorbets.

Elo's Italian: 1603 Commonwealth Avenue, Alexandria, VA 22301

Elo's Italian has a variety of Italian specialities on its menu. Appetizer choices include beef, pork and veal meatballs, arancini, garlic focaccia bread, fennel and arugula salad, and Caesar salad. The entrées could either be pastas (spaghetti pomodoro, smoked potato gnocchi or ricotta cavatelli) or pan-roasted chicken breast, local beef hanger steak ($7 upcharge) or seared sea scallops ($7 upcharge). For dessert, three Italian cheeses are an option along with strawberry almond cake and cannoli.

Evening Star Cafe: 2000 Mount Vernon Avenue, Alexandria, VA 22301

Evening Star will serve up three courses, starting with a choice of Stracchino cheese plate, panzanella or farm greens salad. The second course choices are the Star-Fish Sammy, Pasta Norma, grilled swordfish, or meatballs pomodoro. For dessert, there's a citrus and olive oil cake or seasonal panna cotta.

Hops N Shine: 3410 Mount Vernon Avenue, Alexandria, VA 22305

Hops N Shine will offer an appetizer, sandwich and dessert for $25. Appetizer options are the giant Bavarian pretzel, jalapeño poppers, or fried pickles. Grilled cheese options include the Steak N Chz, Pepperoni N Chz, Eeezy Capreezy, or Let's Shroom. Dessert options are the s'mores bread pudding, strawberry cheesecake or dessert pretzel.

Market 2 Market: 116 E. Del Ray Avenue, Alexandria, VA 22301

Market 2 Market will offer a $25 meal deal, which includes one of its sandwich menu items. The meal also comes with a salad or soup, chips, dessert and soft drink.

Northside 10's three-course menu starts with an appetizer like twin bistro burger sliders, two bacon and mac and cheese fritters, and Carolina pulled pork deviled eggs. Entrée options include grilled salmon over BLT pasta, Chesapeake strip steak, half rack of ribs or farmers market risotto. For dessert, choose from key lime bars or brownies with hot fudge.

Pork Barrel BBQ: 2312 Mount Vernon Avenue, Alexandria, VA 22301

$25 dinner for one

Pork Barrel BBQ will have a $25 BBQ for one, which can be ordered online. Choose from a half stack of St. Louis-style ribs or half smoked chicken plus two sides, one piece of cornbread and a PBR Tallboy or Mexican bottled coke.

RT's Restaurant: 3804 Mount Vernon Avenue, Alexandria, VA 22305

Enjoy Creole-style food with the four-course menu at RT's Restaurant. To start, choose from alligator stew or chicken andouille gumbo for a soup, and you'll also get a mixed green salad. For entrées, choose from shellfish étouffée, New Orleans steak frites and pan-roasted salmon. For dessert, order a Creole bread pudding or chocolate mousse.

Spice Kraft Indian Bistro: 2607 Mount Vernon Avenue, Alexandria, VA 22301

Spice Kraft's three-course menu starts with an appetizer — samosa, spinach pakora chaat or spicy chicken. For an entrée, choose from Chettinadu vegetable korma, saag paneer, chana masala, chicken tikka masala, lamb homestyle, or shrimp kadai. Dessert choices are gulab jamun with nuts or rice kheer with boondi. Dinner comes with naan and rice. Dine-in, takeout and online ordering are available.

This pop-up bar will offer a $25 menu with a signature tiki cocktail. Diners then choose from coconut shrimp or smoked jerk wings and get Bermuda bread pudding for dessert.
