Chapman DeMary Trail

Get ready to turn ordinary rocks into tiny works of art! Join us at the Chapman DeMary Trail at 1 p.m. on Sunday, August 30, for an afternoon of creativity and nature. Participants will paint two rocks—one to take home and one to place along the trail for another visitor to discover. Your colorful creation might become someone else’s favorite trail treasure! The Purcellville Parks and Recreation Advisory Board will provide all the supplies. Before you arrive, go on the Nature Trivia Walk at the Chapman DeMary Trail. Find all 10 trivia questions, write the answers on the trivia walk sheet, then bring your completed answer sheet to the rock painting event to receive a prize! Discover Nature’s Secrets is a monthly series of nature walks and environmental programs held on the last Sunday of each month. The series is designed to encourage people of all ages to explore, enjoy and appreciate the natural world right here in Purcellville. The program is hosted by the Purcellville Parks and Recreation Advisory Board, often in partnership with the Tree and Environment Sustainability Committee and the Purcellville Arts Council.
