About City of Fairfax Band Association
The City of Fairfax Band Association is an all-volunteer association of concert bands, including the City of Fairfax Band, the Main Street Community Band, and Northern Virginia Youth Winds. Concerts include popular concert music as well as original works written specifically for the bands. The flagship band, City of Fairfax Band, celebrates 50 years, and includes some original musicians from 1969 in addition to music educators and current and former military band musicians. Membership is by audition only. The Main Street Community Band is a non-audition band composed of area musicians of all levels. The Northern Virginia Youth Winds is an audition-only band comprised of middle and high school students from area schools.
