6th Annual Northern Virginia Interfaith Trans* Day of Remembrance Service

Thursday, November 20, 7:30 pm in Oakton

The 6th Annual Northern Virginia Interfaith Trans* Day of Remembrance Service, sponsored by the Metropolitan Community Church of Northern Virginia, will be hosted by the Unitarian Universalist Congregation of Fairfax, 2709 Hunter Mill Road, in Oakton on Thursday, November 20, at 7:30 pm. The service memorializes those who have died as a result of transphobia – the hatred or fear of transgender people and people who do not conform to society’s gender stereotypes. On average, there is one such murder in this country every month and most go unsolved. Many more are harassed, stigmatized, and the victims of sexual and physical violence. Join with people of many faiths to stand in support and listen to the voices of those who often go unheard.

*”Trans” incorporates a broad range of gender variance and expression.
