All About My Grandfather And The Place He Worked in 1900

My father and his parents and siblings came to Savage, Md in 1900 from Russia and I have all this info on them now from a Facebook resident

My father came from Russia at age 7 with his mom and dad and his 4 siblings to a town in Maryland called Savage. One day several years ago, I on Facebook asked if anyone in Savage could find a picture of the men who worked in the mill that time. A fine resident jAMES Dewey Williamson answered me and sent me a photo of a group of men working there in the mill. I could not pick out my grandpa's picture because I never knew him; he was gone before I was born and before my brother who was 5 years  older than me was born.

My dad said they lived there and they left a few years later. Now today I find on Jim's Facebook a picture someone sent him of this mill or factory and the street where it was. They wove material canvas which was used in making sails for clipper ships and later on for painted backdrops in silent movies and as canvas products for US soldiers during World Wars One and Two. A lady writes in to Jim that she lived in 1960's on a street where the mill workers lived, probably where my dad lived then as a kid in 190

How exciting for me to learn of this information from 1900's and a bit of my dad's past as a youngster of 7 probably to 8 or 9.

History is exciting and especially if it is your family history. I have a forthcoming article and it is called  Dancing Is Like Dreaming Of Your Feet. This information on my Dad and his Dad is like dreaming of your ancestors late in your senior life. Just last night I dreamed of my brother visiting me and I was surprised that he had driven over this distance and he has been gone now 14 years and he is named for this grandfather of ours who neither of us knew. Quite a coincidence.

Thank you to my email pal of Savage,Maryland who answered my questions on Savage about 9 years ago and he tried to find a picture of my grandfather and we became email pals. His name is James (Jim) Dewey Williamson.
