GO PINK, MON., OCT. 29, FREE MIND/BODY CLASSES at METROPOLITAN FINE ARTS CENTER

Metropolitan Fine Arts Center’s (MFAC) of Alexandria, Va. is asking its students to ‘think pink’ in support of breast cancer awareness and will be offering FREE mind/body classes on Mon., Oct. 29 at their Alexandria and Fairfax Station, Va. locations, and from Tues., Oct. 30 through  Sat., Nov. 3, they’re offering all adult mind/body classes at a 50 percent discount. For each adult that takes a mind/body class on Oct. 29, MFAC will donate the class fee to the American Cancer Society and donate 50 percent of class fees for mind/body students for the remainder of that week. Instructors will be donned in pink and ask their students to do the same. Classes are located at 6450 Landsdowne Centre in Alexandria, Va. and in Fairfax Station, Va. at 9015 Silverbrook Road. “Breast cancer awareness is so important, and part of that awareness can start with taking care of your mind and body,” said Melissa Dobbs, founder and executive director of Metropolitan Fine Arts Center of Alexandria and Fairfax Station, Va. “We encourage everyone to try out the free and discounted classes, and be a part of our breast cancer awareness campaign,” said Dobbs.

Mind/body adult classes include: yoga and metro barre. Class schedules and pricing are available at www.metrofinearts.com. Metro Barre is a combination of Pilates, yoga and ballet movements, along with bursts of cardio and the use of a ballet barre for support and resistance.
