Clifton Man Charged with Cutting Acquaintance

A 36-year-old Clifton man cut an acquaintance Sunday evening after an argument in a home on Pope’s Head Road, authorities said. 

Joseph Davis, 36, of Clifton, was charged in the crime, Fairfax County Police Spokeswoman Lucy Caldwell said. 

According to authorities, the incident occurred at about 9 on the 12000 block of Pope’s Head Road in Clifton. The two men, who knew each other, got into a dispute at the victim’s home.

Police said that Davis attacked the victim, cutting the man in the upper body. Davis fled from the home. A search helicopter was used to find him. Police spotted him in the backyard of a nearby home, where Davis was then arrested.

The victim sustained non-life threatening injuries. Police did not say what the two men were arguing about. The name of the victim is not being released.
