County Offers Diabetes Management Courses This Week
Training sessions scheduled for Thursday and Friday.

Fairfax County is sponsoring a diabetes management course, Self-Management Leader Training, set for Thursday and Friday.
The free program trains group leaders in how to help people better manage diabetes.
There are 25.8 million people in the United States, or 8.3 percent of the population, who have diabetes, according to the American Diabetes Association.

Fairfax County reports that 7.5 percent of the population was diagnosed with diabetes, according to a 2008 study from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention: National Diabetes Surveillance System.
