Drunken Driving Taskforce Marks 10th Year
The Checkpoint Strikeforce campaign is now in its 10th year

Fairfax County Police are out in full force to pull over drunken drivers in the 10th year of the Checkpoint Strikeforce campaign.
The campaign involves sobriety checkpoints, saturation patrols and heavy enforcement around the holidays.
An average of 19 people a year are killed in drunken driving related incidents, according to the Virginia Department of Motor Vehicles. Since 2001, Virginia has seen a 23-percent decrease in alcohol-related fatalities and a 32-percent decrease in alcohol-related injuries.
