16th Annual CCE Irish Folk Festival


This free IRISH FOLK FESTIVAL, sponsored by the Comhaltas Ceoltoírí Éireann (CCE) O'Neill Malcom Branch with support from the Fairfax City Commission on the Arts & the City of Fairfax, features live traditional Irish music and dance at the new Sherwood Community Center,  http://www.fairfaxva.gov/commcenter/commcenter.asp at 3740 Old Lee Highway, Fairfax VA (Noon to 8:30pm), AND at The Auld Shebeen Irish Pub, www.TheAuldShebeenva.com,   3971 Chain Bridge Road, Fairfax (1pm to 6pm) with an Irish country dance or Ceili at The Sherwood Center from 6:30 - 8:30pm.

Featured performers include the band TEADA from County Sligo, Ireland, All-Ireland champs Billy McComiskey and Brendan Mulvihill, The Narrowbacks, Lilt, The South Roscommon Singers Circle, The Irish Breakfast Band, sean-nós (old-style) step-dancer Shannon Dunne and a host of others including and the area’s top Irish step-dancing schools.
