BATTLEFIELD EQUESTRIAN SOCIETY

A last minute, unscheduled BES Work Day:
- Friday, February 4
- 9AM at Park Maintenance
Due to the recent snow and ice storms, trees have come down in the Park . We need the following:
- swampers to work with trained BES sawyers.
(Sawyers are the folks wielding chain saws!   Swampers are             the folks who wrangle the cut trees off the trail!)
- folks to walk the trails and count downed trees.   On a map, they will need to mark approximate location of tree(s).
                 - include the following information:
                        1 - size of trees --------(less than 10") (10-15") (+16")
                         2 - number of trees --- (1) (<5) (10-15 in bunch) etc.
                          3 - type of trees ------ (pine) (cedar) (oak)(mixed)
Please let Joan know if you can help!
Note that the group will be walking through the snow
so wear waterproof boots and warm clothes!

Many thanks!  -Joan
