Ekoji Buddhist Temple presents "Crossing Over" - Becoming a Jodo Shinshu Buddhist, a public seminar featuring Rev. Kurt Rye, Associate Minister of the Fresno Buddhist Temple, Fresno, Ca.  Please join us on Saturday, August 11, 2012, 9 a.m. - 11:45 a.m. Lunch will be provided for a $5.00 Donation. About the speaker: Rev. Rye was born in Anchorage, Alaska, but his early years were spent in the Washington, D.C. metro area. He has lived in Japan for four years where he was exposed to Buddhism. He has served at the Fresno Betsuin as an associate member since April 2008.  Rev. Rye is a graduate of the Institute for Buddhist Studies (2004) and received his Kai Kyoshi (higher-level minister) certification in April 2008.
