Fifth annual Climate Change Symposium at NOVA-Annandale

The Annandale Campus of Northern Virginia Community College will host its fifth annual Climate Change Symposium on Monday, April 22 from 11:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. in the CE Forum. The event is free and open to the public.


The symposium will focus on the effects of climate change from local to global, the changes that are happening in our area, what we are doing to prepare for the changes, and whether we are ready to make an energy transition.

  • Stuart Freudberg, director of Environmental Programs for the Metropolitan Washington Council of Governments

  • Jim Lyon, vice president of Conservation Policy, National Wildlife Federation (NWF)

  • Bonnie Ram, president of Ram Power LLC, associate director and senior research scientist at the Center for Carbon-Free Power of the University of Delaware

  • Joe Witte, meteorologist and climate communicator, former meteorologist for the “Today Show”


 


Presenters will speak for 30 minutes and will be followed by a panel discussion. The Annandale Campus is located at 8333 Little River Turnpike.
