Humane Society of Fairfax County "A Toast to the Animals" Wine Tasting & Silent Auction

Founded in 1965, The Humane Society of Fairfax County (HSFC) has been making a difference in the lives of cats, dogs, horses and other animals for more than 45 years. HSFC is a no kill animal welfare group that takes in and finds homes for stray, abused and unwanted dogs, cats, horses, rabbies and animals that need care and seeks to direct resources where they are needed most and to alleviate or prevent animals from any suffering. HSFC takes in dogs, cats and other animals from local shelters when space is available and also provides veterinary care with local vets, rehabilitation and professional dog training to animals in their care. HSFC also partners with local spay/neuter programs to provide access to affordable spay/neuter services.

HSFC holds a few fundraisers each year to raise much needed funds to continue their lifesaving work. On Saturday, November 5th, 2011 HSFC will hold their first annual "A Toast to the Animals" Wine Tasting & Silent Auction from 3PM-7PM at Paradise Springs Winery in Clifton, Virginia. The cost is $40 per person in advance ($45 pp day of event) which includes 2 glasses of wine, hors d'ouevres, a silent auction, local artwork, beautiful handmade jewelry, music and more.

Participants can browse through the premiums at the silent auction tables until the bidding closes (get your holiday gift shopping done!). Lucky bidders can win great items like a 7 day trip to Bermuda, an afternoon tea for 2 at the Ritz Carlton (Tysons), a 2 hour bowling party for 40 (with shoes!) at the AMC Bowling Lanes (Centreville-$500 value) and a gift certificate for a concert for 2 at the George Mason Performing Arts Center and yoga classes at Sun & Moon Studio. If you like to shop you can bid on a $250 gift card at Whole Foods or a Total Wine $100 gift card. Spa services include a spa pedicure at Elizabeth Arden Red Door Salon (Fairfax Corners), a massage at Dante Salon & Day Spa (Fairfax), A $50 gift card to Shapes and 2 massages at Massage Envy (Burke).

There are fabulous dining opportunities...Dinner for a small group at Lebanese Taverna (Tysons), or gift certificates good at the Melting Pot (Reston), Mon Ami Gabi, Maggiannos, Uncle Julios, Bonefish Grill, PF Changs and dinner for 2 at Joe Theismann's (Alexandria) and many  more!

The money raised at the fundraiser helps the rescue of injured and endangered pets; shelter for hundreds of abandoned and lost pets; pet adoptions to loving homes; spay/neuter services, dog training, humane education in area schools and food to the DC metro area through the HSFC Ani-meals Pet Food Program.
