Fairfax Station Man Sentenced to 12 Years in Prison on Drug Charges: FBI

The FBI said in their December newsletter that Martin distributed heroin to an Aldi resident who died from heroin poisoning.

FAIRFAX STATION, VA -- Michael Martin, of Fairfax Station, was sentenced last month to 12 years in prison for conspiracy to distribute heroin and oxycodone, according to the FBI Washington field office.

From August 2014, until June 2015, Martin illegally distributed oxycodone tablets and utilized the proceeds from these sales to purchase heroin, a portion of which he sold to other individuals, the FBI said.

On Dec. 3, 2014, Martin distributed heroin to Christopher Ritchie, a 30-year old resident of Aldie, the FBI said. Ritchie injected himself with a portion of the heroin that Martin provided and subsequently died the same day, according to the FBI.

The cause of Ritchie’s death was later determined to be heroin poisoning, the FBI said.
