Youth Swim League Raises $19,500 for Breast Cancer Research

The Shark Tank Squad raised funds for the Avon Walk for Breast Cancer.

A local youth swim league supported their coach and helped raise $19,500 for the Avon Walk for Breast Cancer.

“Many, many thanks to each of you for your financial and emotional support over the last several months and an enormous thanks to the swimmers, families and friends of the Shark Tank Racing Squad,” said Coach Patty Friedman.

The Shark Tank Racing Squad is made up of 37 boys and girls ages 8 to 22 who live in Fairfax Station and the surrounding area. The walk took place over the weekend, after months of fundraising efforts. The amount they raised was the third-largest sum in the Northern Virginia area, Friedman said.
