I-66 Delays After Truck Catches Fire
I-66 Westbound at Lee Highway were shut down after accident on Tuesday
A vehicle fire caused major delays on I-66's westbound lanes Tuesday.
The accident just prior to Lee Jackson Highway was reported at about 1:30 p.m. A tractor-trailer carrying hay caught fire and became engulfed in flames, Virginia State Police officials said. The driver of the truck was not injured.
Traffic was backed up for nearly six hours as fire officials worked to put out the flames and clean up debris.
