I Will Call You

I heard this phrase about calling you

A friend told me when her father died, her mom said this "it will be a lonely road. I will call his name." I took it to mean, he is lonely and she his wife will call him out to speak with him so he would not be lonely."

A lovely thought. When people lose a spouse, they often feel they want to talk to them, for their feeling good to hear from you and you to them.

Sometimes, I feel sad and I say out loud "Mom, I wish you were here to talk with me." The same way with dad, I say "Daddy, I wish I could talk to you."

This makes me sad that they are not here to see their grandkids growing up and how smart they are and how accomplished they are and of course, how beautiful and handsome they are.

Some believe they are up there watching over us and our kids.

Once when the second son was about ten, we went to a restaurant and they gave the kids balloons and on the way home, he let his balloon up to the sky and said this is for Grandpa and Gingham.

A friend told me that when her grandson was about six, he had lost his only grandparent and he did the same thing. They were on the way to the ocean and he told his Dad, this is where he could find him that day down at the ocean.

I had no grand parents and so I could not have those feelings.

Gloria Gaynor had a song "I will survive." So we shall and we never will forget them.
