La Bella Luce Honors Local Artists

Five artists were featured.

Recently, Clifton’s own antique boutique honored five local art teachers from as their featured artists of the month.

A reception was held for the artists on Wednesday, May 23. Read the bios of the artist, submitted by La Bella Luce, below:

Pam Young

Pam Young is an artist and teacher who has worked at Centreville High School for the past 23 years. Pam lives in the Clifton area with her husband Randy. She has been creating original works of art most of her life, most recently working in oils based on photographs taken of her travels to Europe. She has been exhibiting her work for the past 25 years. Pam is the mother of three grown children and proudly boasts of her four grandchildren.

Troy Hayes

Troy has been creating art most of his life. He has been an art teacher at Centreville High School for the past 11 years. Most of his art work is sports related but he also creates portrait drawings, wildlife and architectural drawings. Troy lives in Gainesville, Va. with his wife Sisi, and their two sons, Guy and Trent. He exhibits his works locally and at shows on the East Coast. Troy has been commissioned by several NFL athletes for their portraits. “I’m a huge football fan! I wanted to create portraits of these amazing athletes that were like no other. No two of my paintings are alike and each has its own character. My goal is to one day have a portrait in as many NFL player’s homes as possible.”

Allison Dreon

Completing her first year of teaching at Centreville High School, Allison excels in photography. Allison completed her studies at the University of Virginia and specializes in color, digital and alternative processes. Recently engaged, this is her “Year of Firsts”. Allison lives in Reston.

Rory Marcaccio Schaffer

Rory hails from Rhode Island where she received her Bachelor of Fine Arts and master’s degree from Rhode Island School of Design. Rory teaches 3D Media Focus at Centreville High School where she has been for the past 15 years. Her present medium of choice is glass. She constantly explores new ways to incorporate it with other media. She lives in Vienna with her husband David.

Krister Killinger

Krister is an accomplished fine artist who has exhibited his paintings in galleries across the United States. He is an illustrator and has created artwork for books, greeting cards, gift wrap and home décor. His adventures in art as a graphic designer, teacher and illustrator have greatly contributed to his realistic style of artwork. Krister’s artwork explores the mastery of realism plus the introduction of metaphoric relationships to his subject matter. He is presently working on two series of paintings, one creating interesting perspective of flowers and the second deals with smaller scale paintings executed in a master’s style. They portray relationships between objects to create a play on words. He lives in Chantilly with his wife Angela and their four children. Krister has been teaching at Centreville High School for the past 13 years.
