Love Is Not Self Serving And Not Easily Angered Corinthian

I had a blind uncle and one snippy aunt said that when he had a chance to get contact lenses which were new in about 1948 or so, he declined because they were made in Japan. Snippy aunt said he was encouraged by his other siblings and not his wife because she might be afraid he might not care for her looks. She was a nice looking woman, very sweet and kind and a bit heavy. So what? She was a very lovely lady because of her intelligence and caring about him.

He missed out because contact lenses would have allowed him to see large print and colors. He chose to keep his life as it was and he figured he was too old to change. He was about forty something in those days. The doctor named Mary Small and she said this was his desire and he should be allowed to do as he wished.

Corinthian said love is not self seeking and not easily angered. Uncle George was never angered; I never heard him say a mean thing. He was such a positive guy, all of us nephews and nieces loved him. My brother and I especially adored him. We loved him so much. He played in a band of several guys to make more money.

I did not want him to work, I wanted him to be a guest at my wedding. Towards the end of the night, he got up and played on the piano a few sweet songs to honor my husband and I. It was a music event to us, his favorite niece and his new nephew in law.

I think Aunt Rosemarie, his wife was there with him and she was so proud of him playing the piano for us.

My daughter named her second son after him, as is the custom of Jewish people naming a child after a beloved person.

So snippy persons should not interfere with people and their thoughts on life when it is not their business.

I once asked Aunt Rosemarie when she was eating at Mom's house why she called him Dar and he called her Dar. She said it means darling.
