Modeling, Producing, And Many Dreams Accomplished

I feel stimulated to write two stories in a row, in about two hours to help stimulate others to accomplish their dreams

I see where Donald Trump's third wife,  Melania, age 46 received from him upon their engagement about  12years ago, a larger diamond than his other two wives. This is fine, he can afford them.  He is generous and this too if fine.

As we get older and become seniors, health is more important than expensive jewelry.

When I was about 16.5, I went to a modeling call to audition to be picked to model as a teen in a department store modeling event. We were told there would be about six or so to be picked out from each high school that were participating in the event.

When I arrived there, there were about 300 or more girls vying for the position of 6 total. We were told there would be about 20 'winners' and they would be from about 20 schools. All that we were told was baloney as to the totals. It was really a waste of time and many of us were disappointed for the wrong numbers to give to us.After waiting my turn, which was about two hours, I knew I was not winning even though I looked quite pretty, slim, nice hair, nails etc.

I did not cry, I just got up, when it was over and my girlfriend and I went home on the bus and we were not unhappy we had not been picked out of 300  young ladies,

So about six months later, I spoke to a big shot at another department store and I said I, as a teen now 17 would like to have my own modeling show and I would gather the models, she would direct the show and supply the clothing from that store called Hechts.

So immediately, I asked one girlfriend who had gone with me to the above 300 girls show and she declined because she had decided this was not for her. The director of the modeling show took over getting some teen models from places she knew of and even inserted a few models in their ages of about 25 or so. We did not get any money, but we were allowed to keep the outfit we modeled, which was a very expensive skirt and blouse, designer type.

The delightful day arrived after we had practiced our movements and place in the lineup and it sure was a blessed moment in my young 17 year old life. She had a program printed up to give to the audience and listed me as the producer, because it was my idea of a teen producing a show in those days of  1951.

The moral or theme of this story is that we all have dreams and sometimes whether we are teens, seniors or any age persons; sometimes we can make them come true, if we tried hard enough. I did have a resume of modeling every Saturday at another department store, I worked at, so I was a bit experienced and I did go to modeling school for about a year.

Always follow your dreams, make them come true, no matter how many years pass by. I have a friend who battled cancer and so far she has won. Now she went back to some part time modeling and this is her dream reassigned in her life after her sickness. Bravo to Betty P. Wilson of Florida of never giving up and to be a survivor in life and health. She is almost 78

So we seniors can and always do better. I write articles over 40 for this Patch and about 700 for other Patches and other publications and I have 58 trophies for my ballroom dancing competitive days and maybe after these arthritic knees are better, I will go back to it. Bravo to all of us and we need no 2 million dollar rings to be happy; we need stamina, hope, faith, good doctors and great will and desire. elita sohmer clayman Today is the 2nd of March and the March winds are blowing, let them not ever blow our dreams away.
