New Pet Store Opening in Clifton

A new pet store in Clifton will be hosting an opening celebration this weekend.

Pet Valu is located at Clifton’s Colonnade in Union Mill shopping center at 5750 Union Mill Road. The 3,000-square-foot location had its soft opening a few weeks ago but will have its grand opening event beginning at 9 a.m. Saturday, according to a press release from the store.

The first 100 customers will receive a free gift bag and there will also be a raffle, refreshments and discounts on items. Animal rescue groups will also be at the store introducing adoptable pets.

Pet Valu is an international franchise that started in Canada and recently expanded to the United States. They plan on opening an additional 30 stores this summer in the Northeast. The company, with 400 stores in total, sells its own line of organic pet foods and products.

“Pet Valu is a little different, it’s more upscale and boutique,” said Layal Brown, a spokesman for the company.
