Nine Eleven Fifteen Years Later
We were sitting at the table eating breakfast and the news came on
It is hard to believe fifteen years ago today, when the horrific events happened to this nation. When I was a child of about seven, Pearl Harbor in the Hawaiian Islands was bombed and it was Chanukah and we were getting ready for a small dinner to celebrate it. It was hard for a small child to understand all of this. In 1974 we went to Hawaii and we saw the ship with the entombed service men who were on the ship. This was so heart wrenching to see it and to be on the ship.
Fifteen years ago today, I as an adult and this too was so horrible to watch TV and to see this before our eyes and heart. There was no TV then in our homes for Pearl Harbor, we listened on the radio.
A friend of mine had a nephew die in the building on nine eleven. He had been so happy to get a job there and had been on the job only one week, when he lost his young life.
