Overdose Death: Man Pleads Guilty in Centreville Incident

David Evers, 18, was charged with with giving morphine to Alexia Springer, 18, who was found dead the next day.

CENTREVILLE — David Evers pleaded guilty in Fairfax County court Monday for giving a Centreville High School classmate a morphine pill which ultimately contributed to the death of 17-year-old Alexia Springer.

Evers' bond was revoked and he faces five-to-40 years in prison at his Dec. 2 sentencing.

He had turned himself in to police in May at the Fairfax County Adult Detention Center.

Police say on March 1, around 10:45 a.m., patrol officers from the Sully District Station were called to a residence in the 13800 block of Coleman Court for a report of an unresponsive 17-year-old female.

Paramedics with the Fairfax County Fire and Rescue Department pronounced the young woman dead and she was later identified as Springer, of Centreville.

On April 15, the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner determined that the cause of death was acute combined morphine, alprazolam, oxycodone, and ethanol poisoning, and the death was deemed accidental.
