Paradise Springs Grand Re-Opening

The weather was blissful for the unveiling of Paradise Springs Winery's renovation.

Paradise Springs Winery in Clifton celebrated its grand re-opening with sunshine and happy customers.

“Does it get any better than this?” one couple laughed as they sipped white wine on the outdoor patio.

The winery unveiled its brand new tasting room, open deck and barrel room Friday.  The renovation will give Paradise Springs some long needed elbow room.  The tasting room has high ceilings, a gleaming bar, wine barrel tables and allows guests to look directly into the barrel room as they sample wine and snacks.

“It helps make the connection between the winemaking process, the wine itself and the people,” said proprietor Kirk Wiles.

The tasting room was designed with earth tones and a lot of natural elements.

“We’re bringing nature indoors,” said Wiles.  “We wanted the building to fit in aesthetically on the property.”

The cabin that sits on the property has been around since the early 1800s.  It was renovated in 1955 by a student of Frank Lloyd Wright.  The barn is also historic so it was important to Wiles that the addition to Paradise Springs not look like hastily and sloppily added modern construction.

“Wine is a farm product,” Wiles said.  “It’s agricultural.”

The winery cut the ribbon on their renovation project this past Wednesday and the grand re-opening will run through Sunday.  The weekend will feature live music and food and extended hours Saturday night.  Paradise Springs will regularly be open Wednesday-Sunday from 11 a.m.-7 p.m. year-round.  Friday nights they stay open until 9 p.m. to give people getting off work a little extra time to come out and enjoy.

The new addition features an outdoor seating area with open sides and tremendous views.  A fireplace indicates the deck will be up and running even during the winter months.

“People want to sit outside in nice weather,” Wiles said.  “This building allows people to continue to enjoy when it’s not nice weather.”
