Robinson Boosters Rallying for New Projects
Robinson Secondary School's Athletic Boosters are hard at work

Parents involved in ’s Athletic Boosters program are hard at work at making improvements to the school this year.
In September, that was years in the making and cost about $700,000 to build with funds from the Fairfax County School District and Robinson’s Athletic Boosters Club.
The booster club also started a website, where parents give updates on projects and take donations.

- In November, the boosters applied for grants totaling $265,000 from the United States Soccer Foundation for the installation of synthetic turf fields at the school. The booster anticipate that awards for the grant will be announced in the first quarter of 2012.
- The boosters assisted the Braddock Road Youth Club in preparing an application for the Fairfax County Synthetic Turf grant program.
- Just this week, the school added additional sleeves to allow more volleyball court access.
- In the upcoming year, the boosters are looking into placing hardwood floor on the basketball courts which are now constructed from a man-made material. They also want to improve the concession and rest room facilities, and improving the softball and baseball fields.
All of these projects will be funded partially through grants and partially through funds raised by the boosters.
