Rams field hockey, football and volleyball from September 13 to September 20

Robinson Football (1-2):
After starting the season 0-2, the Rams secured their first victory of the season on Friday, September 17 over T.C. Williams (1-2). Robinson running back Tyrek Worrell rushed for 141 yards and two touchdowns in the team’s 27-13 victory. Running back Michael Hugney also gained 91 yards on 8 carries, and threw a 13-yard touchdown pass to Nate Foote.
The Rams host undefeated Westfield (3-0) this Friday, September 23, in pursuit of their second win of 2011 under first-year head coach Trey Taylor.

JV Football (1-0):
The Robinson JV football team defeated T.C. Williams on Thursday, September 15, 28-6. The team travels to Westfield on Thursday, September 22.

Robinson Field Hockey (1-5):
Robinson’s varsity field hockey program is in the midst of a five-game losing streak. The Rams have not won a contest since their August 30, season-opening victory over Falls Church (0-5). This past week, the Rams were defeated by Fairfax (7-3) on Wednesday, September 14, Madison (6-4) on Friday, September 16, and Chantilly (6-4) on Monday, September 19. The Rams were outscored 7-3 in the three loses.
The team will have chance at victory as they hit the road Thursday, September 22 at Lake Braddock (7-3) and at home on Tuesday, September 27 against Washington-Lee (5-3).
Robinson Volleyball (5-4):
Ram Volleyball is currently on a two-game win streak. The team defeated First Colonial 3-1 on Saturday, September 17 and Edison (4-5) 3-1 on Monday, September 19. The team hosts West Springfield (5-2) on Thursday, September 22 and both Langley (5-4) and Woodson (9-1) on Saturday, September 24.
JV Volleyball (1-1):
JV Volleyball defeated Edison 2-0 on Monday, September 19 and hosts Springfield on Thursday, September 22.
