Smile With Your Heart And Your Eyes
All about a letter from my Mom to me and words from my friend Steven
My friend Steven Behr Sr said this about his grandmother and she said this to him “people smile from the heart.” He said in her case she smiled from her eyes. He told me that I definitely fall into that category. He said he wants me to show off my inner spirit and energy.
This is a beautiful to me. I try to smile in photos, I find it hard. I do not like one of my teeth and I am getting it fixed soon and then I will smile a lot.
My Dad use to have one dimple and as a kid, I would sit there and press my finger into one side of my face trying to get me a dimple. My friend Carmen Elena Oliva has one too and she is a beautiful young lady. She is my mentor so to speak of photos and is photographing me for choosing me to be in her advertisement online for hair styling that she does This is such fun and she took the photos of me last Friday showing before and after and they are very nice
My daughter-in-law a few months ago said I am a swinging Grammie. This a nice compliment and I try not to sit and watch daytime except for my long two soap operas for 40 some years. Other than that I watch Bill O’Reilly, Greta Van Sustern and Hannity for other news topics.
My Mom left me to read a letter she had written and she put it in her safe deposit box and I was to read it upon her passing. I could not wait and I read it while she was alive. I did not tell her that I did.
She wrote that I was the rainbow of her and Dad’s life from the minute I was born. The letter made me cry and I still miss her even though it is almost 32 years. I still think when something happens good for me and the kids, I want to share it with her.
So rainbows, dimples, smiles, energy, spirit heart are all beautiful thoughts and memories keep us going when we think back to the ones we love and love now.
Steven always tells me in his emails to smile and to be happy and he uses many of my words in his wellness classes a lot to seniors to inspire them to accomplish and to continue on and go forward. I am proud he uses my words and not be like the press demonizing Melanie Trump for her taking someone else’s words. I say words in the dictionary are there to be used and loved and honored. I do not believe anyone owns them. We just can if we want and we quote a sentence someone said and consider it special and say I heard this somewhere like on TV or in a movie.
There is a darling handicapped boy of about nine and he says to please give to our organization for “kids like me.” These are special words not only for him owning them but for him getting help for others.
Dr, John Levay my special professor at college when I went to get a college degree at age 33 and 3/4 said to me on my first essay test after going back to school after 17 years “Mrs. Clayman, you can and you will do better and I give you a B.” I quoted him about two hundred times since he wrote those words on a blue essay booklet. So I am not lifting his words as was said incorrectly that Melanie Trump did in her speech. Those words in a sentence do not belong to one person; they belong to all of us who write and speak and live. The dictionary is our book of knowledge and it is there for all of us who want to learn and gain in our vocabulary and it is a free country to use them thoughtfully and lovingly and beautiful.
So if I smile from, my heart or with my eyes; I am also using words that are always there for us.
