In Store Minute or More Minutes For Medical Help
Going into a store for medical help is a good move when you cannot see your doctor
This story is a bit different than I normally write about. It may come in handy some day for you. I had to see an ENT doctor which is one who specializes in ear, nose and throat. I could not get an appointment for one until the end of January. So I had heard that the CVS has a minute clinic in the store and they are staffed by nurse practitioners who really have fine education as nurses with bachelors’ and masters’ degrees and then further as a nurse practitioner. I got there, filled out the electronic information machine and my wait happily was only 10 minutes or less.
She is a young woman named Lori Cobern and she could not have been any kinder or considerate, than she was to me. She was knowledgeable and said it was no infection, just a build up of wax, since I had not had them cleaned out by a professional for 2.5 years, because of not being able to walk and etc. She did a good job and it only was the left ear and wow, I can hear very well and now when my husband says “let’s go to the jewelry store” I will be able to hear him.
Seriously, these clinics are great for weekends, day time, holidays, late at night appointments and just in general, when it is tough to see your internist doctor. They do diagnose and treat illnesses such as strep throat, bladder infections, pink eye and infections of the ear, nose and throat. They provide vaccinations and administer TB tests, vitamin B12 injections and screenings and medication renewals. They write prescriptions when needed and they treat adults and children 18 months or older. I emailed her when I got home and I saw something written on the paper she gave me when I left. She explained to me back in an email ten minutes later, that it was a medical word for my ear problem.

Go on minuteclinic.com and see all they can do when you need them. Someone I know cut his foot on a piece of glass in the cellar after a huge storm several years ago and he went to one of them in the evening and they took care of him and he was able to go to his daughter’s wedding the next day which was a Sunday. He, himself is in the medical field, but this is easier, than going to an emergency room.
I thanked Lori Cobern for her attention to me and not having to wait until the end of January for an ENT doctor to clean my ear. She was pleasant, very pretty, soft spoken and answered all my questions with patience and compassion, as some do not do to seniors.

Lori is surely a vibrant young woman and CVS can be proud, she is their employee.
So now here is to CVS which should stand for Compassion, Victory and Service to their patients.
