Today Is Valentine Day February 14, 2017 59 years of My Husband And I Spent The Day Together
Valentine Day is some girls get engaged, others get candy, flowers, jewelry of not yet the special ring yet
On February 14, 1958, we spent our first Valentine's Day together as boy friend/girl friend. We went to dinner at our favorite place Mardi Gras, dinner, dancing and an unknown comedian. He was kind of semi funny, but that was good.
It was five months since we met and had our first date, a blind one as was called in those days. By then, I had my first piece of jewelry, his high school ring which was a symbol of many more rings to come.
He gave me a 5 lb. box of chocolates in a pretty red heart box. I did not open it. for about 3 weeks. It sat on my dining room table all wrapped in cellophane. I had bought Mom and Dad the new dining room set with money I won in a raffle of 4 tickets out of 100 sold. Their set was about 31 years old and it was my joy to give them a new gorgeous new piece of furniture.

I saw Dad yearning for a piece from the box and finally I opened it and we three had fun choosing which one we liked. When it was gone, I saved the box and kept it in my bedroom because it was a another piece of our growing love.

Life is not ordinary most of all of our days. It is what we make of the hours with our thoughts, our happenings whether at home or work and our inspiration to the old adage, today is good, tomorrow will be better and the next day will be extra beautiful.
A friend said of mine said he just saw a play Guys And Dolls. He said I am a doll.
This is a beautiful word and all of us are guys and dolls and Steven made me feel ten feet tall and all of us can feel ten feet tall every day we are on this Earth.
