Chance of Light Snow Sunday in Northern Virginia: NWS
The National Weather Service says Falls Church has about a 40 percent chance of seeing some snowflakes.

FALLS CHURCH, VA -- Will Northern Virginia see a little snow on Sunday? The National Weather Service says the area has a 40 percent chance of seeing a “light snow” fall between 9 a.m. and 3 p.m. Sunday. A “zone area” weather forecast for Northern Virginia says there’s a better chance of seeing snow in the afternoon and to expect “little or no snow accumulation.”

Whether the area sees snow or not, one thing is for certain. The temperatures are about to take a serious dive for the Martin Luther King Jr. holiday Monday that will keep the area in a deep freeze through Tuesday.
Wind chills will bring the temps down even more to “feels like” about 10 degrees Monday around noon, according to the forecast.

Here’s a look at what to expect:
- Sunday: A chance of light snow between 9am and 3pm. Mostly cloudy, with a high near 38. North wind 3 to 5 mph. Chance of precipitation is 40%.
- Monday: Sunny, with a high near 26. Northwest wind around 16 mph, with gusts as high as 23 mph.
- Tuesday: Sunny, with a high near 28. Northwest wind 14 to 16 mph, with gusts as high as 23 mph.
- Wednesday: Mostly sunny, with a high near 35.
