City's 'Personality,' Walkability Attract Bead Boutique to Falls Church
Falls Church store is company's third.
Moving from a storefront in Tysons Corner to the City of Falls Church in February, Beadazzled offers a wide array of supplies and finished products for both expert and novice “beaders” - those who create their own jewelry with beads.
Deborah McClintock and Chelle Mohaber run the store, which has locations in Dupont Circle and Baltimore in addition to the Falls Church location at at 444 W. Broad St., which was seen as more pedestrian-friendly and fit better with the personality of the city.
“We really liked the feel of the community,” McClintock said. “It seems to have a lot of art going on. A lot of rebuilding going on.”
The store offers small classes for anyone interested, providing more individualized instruction. Mohaber and McClintock are also always available to share advice with customers.

“Our customers are a mix of avid beaders that are making jewelry and other artwork with beads and are coming to us for supplies and advice,” Mohaber said. “Other customers are new to the craft and they come here because it’s a fun thing to do.”
Beadazzled will also be participating in First Friday; the next one is August 2. Local artist Rene Block will host a discussion on how to start a small business designing and selling jewelry. Her designs will be showcased and available for purchase.
