The Selfish Giant, featuring original music by critically acclaimed composer Matt Conner http://www.mattconner.org/, and large-scale puppets created by scenic artist Margie Jervis, was developed through an artistic collaboration led by Producing Director Laura Connors Hull. Helen Hayes Award-winning actor, Stephen Gregory Smith, will play the giant alongside students in Creative Cauldron's Learning Theater program.
Written by one of the most popular playwrights of the nineteenth century, Oscar Wilde's classic tale has inspired in our time, a rock opera, and an Academy Award winning animated short film. This endearing stage adaptation, featuring music by critically acclaimed composer Matt Conner, will show us how a very special child can melt even a selfish giant's heart.
