Fairfax County Officer Pleads No Contest After Reckless Driving Crash

The Fairfax County officer will pay a $250 fine for a crash that severely injured the other driver.

FAIRFAX COUNTY, VA—A Fairfax County Police officer involved in a crash that severely injured the other driver pleaded no contest to a reckless driving charge Wednesday. He will pay a $250 fine.

Officer Pshko Siteki appeared in Fairfax County General District court in relation to the Feb. 18 crash at Leesburg Pike and Patrick Henry Drive in Falls Church. Police say the officer crashed into a minivan when responding to a disorderly conduct call.

The officer was traveling at 68 mph in a 40 mph zone and did not have his emergency lights on. He and the other driver, a 53-year-old man, were taken to the hospital.

Siteki was placed on paid administrative leave in July when given the summons for reckless driving. Police Chief Edwin Roessler Jr. has placed him on restricted duty without police powers while the department completes its own investigation. Siteki has been with the department for two years.

“I will make a determination regarding the officer’s future with the department when the administrative investigation is complete," said Roessler in a statement.
