Falls Church Closures, Cancellations Follow Coronavirus Concerns
The City of Falls Church cancelled upcoming events and will decide on meetings on a case-by-case basis.

FALLS CHURCH, VA — The City of Falls Church has announced event cancellations and other changes related to the new coronavirus outbreak. The Falls Church Community Center and Mary Riley Styles Public Library are closed from Monday, March 16 through Sunday, April 12. City of Falls Church Recreation and Parks classes and events, Falls Church Community Center programs, and library programs and events are cancelled through Tuesday, April 14.
The cancellations include:
- Celtic Music Concert (Saturday, March 14 at Cherry Hill Farmhouse)
- Senior Center and Teen Center at the Community Center
- Community Center Room Rentals
- Spring Break Camps
- East Egg Hunt (Saturday, April 11 in Cherry Hill Park)
- Library story time, book clubs, and more
Council, board and commission meetings will be cancelled on a case-by-case basis. Non-essential meetings that do not impact legislation may be cancelled. The city has developed guidance to limit non-essential meetings and encourages community groups to follow this guidance.

City of Falls Church facilities including City Hall, the Community Center, and the Mary Riley Styles Public Library will remain open. City staff are implementing enhanced cleanliness precautions such as wiping down counter tops, surfaces and work areas several times a day. The Falls Church Farmers Market in the City Hall parking lot has been canceled for Saturday, March 21, but a decision for future dates has not been made.
City employees are asked to stay home if ill or caring for an ill member of their household; city sick leave policies have been amended. Employee travel for city business out of the region is suspended.
