Falls Church Library's Temporary Location To Open

The temporary library will be open as the permanent location is renovated and expanded.

FALLS CHURCH, VA — The temporary location of Mary Riley Styles Public Library is set to open at 9:30 a.m. on Monday, March 9.

Trailers outside of Thomas Jefferson Elementary School (601 South Oak Street) will be temporary home to the library as the permanent location at North Virginia and Park Avenues is renovated and expanded. It will be at this temporary location until May 2021, when the renovated library is expected to reopen.

Around a third of the library's collection was moved to the trailers. This includes current issues of magazines and newspapers, and the library will continue to buy new books and other materials while in the temporary space. Story times, book discussions, ESL and other regular programming are planned to return soon. The library will have limited seating but no study tables or work space. Two public computers, a printer and free Wi-Fi will be set up, but they won't be ready in time for the March 9 opening.
