Body Of Falls Church Man Recovered In Apparent Reston Drowning

Marine patrol and dive teams searching Lake Audubon Monday have found the body of a man who disappeared during a swim race.

RESTON, VA — The body of a Falls Church man was recovered Monday afternoon in an apparent drowning. Fairfax County Police said foul play is not suspected; the medical examiner will determine the cause of death.

Kevin Ruby, 45, was competing in a swim race at Lake Audubon in Reston on Sunday. Fairfax County Police and Fire and Rescue were called to the scene when a family member had not heard from Ruby in more than an hour.

Officers found that he had not been reported in at the end of the race. An initial search in the lake Sunday evening was unsuccessful. Marine and dive teams continued to search into Monday.
