The man had disappeared during a swim race at Lake Audubon Memorial Day weekend.

RESTON, VA—The death of a Falls Church man in a Reston lake back in May has been ruled a drowning.
The Office of the Chief Medical Examiner announced its findings for the death of Kevin Ruby, 45, at a May 28swim race in Lake Audubon. The results also determined the victim's atherosclerotic cardiovascular disease was a contributing factor.
Ruby was competing in a swim race at Lake Audubon in Reston on Sunday. Fairfax County Police and Fire and Rescue were called to the scene when a family member had not heard from Ruby in more than an hour.
