FALLS CHURCH, VA — City of Alexandria voters will head to the polls this upcoming Tuesday t0 vote in the 8th congressional district Democratic primary.

Incumbent Rep. Don Beyer is seeking reelection in the November congressional midterms. First, Beyer will face primary challenger Victoria Virasingh, a former technology industry employee. The Republican candidate chosen in a convention is Karina Lipsman, a refugee from Ukraine who became a U.S. citizen.

The 8th congressional district includes the entire City of Falls Church, Arlington County, City of Alexandria and part of Fairfax County. Because the district is largely blue, it is likely the Democratic primary winner will secure a victory in the November election.
