Falls Church Under Winter Storm Warning

FALLS CHURCH, VA -- The National Weather Service has issued a Winter Storm Warning Monday for the City of Falls Church and the surrounding metro DC area.

The Winter Storm Warning for snow and freezing rain is in effect until Tuesday at 4 a.m. The National Weather Service says to expect 4 to 6 inches of snow, along with about a tenth of an inch of ice.

Precipitation will gradually turn to sleet and freezing rain Monday afternoon, and change to rain late tonight. Temperatures should rise into the lower 30s by Monday afternoon and above freezing by late Monday night.

Snow and ice will cause slippery roads and travel will be difficult. The NWS says conditions make travel hazardous.
