Falls Church Woman Dies After Dump Truck Overturns

FALLS CHURCH, VA — Prince George's County, Md. Police said the woman who died when her dump truck overturned Thursday is from Falls Church.

Trashawn Haggins, 28, was heading eastbound on White House Road in Largo when she lost control of the truck while on a curve, police said. The dump truck hit utility pole, trapping Haggins in her truck with live power lines wrapped around it. She died at the scene around 8:15 a.m.

Police are still investigating how and why Haggins lost control of the truck. Officials worked with Pepco to terminate the power, but Haggins was already pronounced dead on scene.
