Mill Creek Residential's 4.5-acre development will include luxury apartments and retail space at West Broad Street and North West Street. A formal groundbreaking ceremony will happen Monday, March 4.

The developer received final site approval last fall to begin the groundbreaking. The plans had been years in the making and changed over time, the Falls Church News-Press reported.
"Having a movie theater that most of the City of Falls Church can walk to will further our commitment to make the city a vibrant, walkable destination for residents and visitors from Fairfax, Arlington and beyond," said Falls Church Mayor David Tarter in a statement.
The first homes and initial retail could open in summer 2021.
