FALLS CHURCH, VA—Community members are sending prayers and support for a Falls Church family after their three children died in an Oxon Hill, Md. crash Sunday, Dec. 30. Police believe the driver responsible may have been drunk when he crashed into the family's car.

A GoFundMe account has been set up for the Mejia-Martinez family after the deaths of 5-year-old Alexander Mejia, 5-year-old Rosalie Mejia, and 1-year-old Isaac Mejia. The children's parents, Alexis and Juanita Mejia, were taken to the hospital in critical but stable condition. The parents are recovering at this time, according to the GoFundMe page.

The three children died instantly when a pickup truck rear-ended their family's car on Indian Head Highway, according to Prince George's County Police. The family's car was stopped behind two other vehicles for a traffic light when the pickup truck hit it. The crash caused two other vehicles to be hit, and the pickup truck came to rest on top of the rear-passenger compartment of the family's car.

The truck driver was taken into custody for sobriety testing and has been released. Charges will depend on the results of the testing, investigation and consultation with the Prince George's County State's Attorney's Office.
